Track 1 Vakaaitu

Two mischievous spirits beside me

Angers me in the night

Held fast to my bed

In the dark

Behind them spiritual canoes

Canoes on the move

Spirits standing before me

What is it?  what is it?

Something familiar about them

Spiritual canoes

Overfilled and heavy

Spiritual canoes

Suffering faces

From the long journey

Longing for peace

The power of this group

Something heavy on their minds

The power of this group
These are the ancestors

Their wrinkled faces

Frustrated and detached

Reluctant to continue

Needing a task done

With a will to end it here

The power of this group
These are the ancestors

The work is done

Go now

Rest in peace

The work is finished.

Track 2 Better than this Look in the eyes
See it in their faces

Seeking searching for answers

Ways of the world

Dreaming of a different way

Jump up and down
 It’s best that way

Just let yourself go

It’s best that way

It's much greater than this

It's better than that

It's much better than this

Bad man dumbing you down
Pulling you down
Killing you slowly
Killing your soul

You don't need to walk

Through  all this hell

There's much good

If you look

It's all there for you

To discover just how good

Track 3 Nonu Power

Grows freely throughout the Pacific

Testimony of it's strength

Grows freely and quietly it grows

According to Tinielu it has powers

It's the best in the world

Very sweet especially for the family

Power juice with Power

Power taking care of the family

Power juice with power

Keeping families together

Get familiar with the juice

Truly a miracle tree

Settles and looks after your health

This tree of life

There is a family in Tahiti

But this is our juice

Remember the name

It's the juice of Samoa

Spreading throughout the world

The Nonu from Samoa

Well known throughout the world

The Nonu from Samoa

The Nonu of Samoa

It’s sweet  like striking oil

Yeah like striking oil

Yeah yeah it’s Nonu

It’s Nonu It’s Nonu

Yeah yeah it’s Nonu Power

Track 5 To the resue

It says a lot about us

when we care enough

about other species to do something

to ensure their survival

even when they don't contribute

monetarily to our pockets

To the rescue

Power to life

It says a lot about ourselves

when we care enough that

there is enough space in the world

for them too

preventing their extinction

taking responsibility for them

for changing their environment

If mankind was on his way out

it would also be worthwhile

for someone to come to our rescue

To the rescue

Power to life

        Track 6 Ke faitatala

          E tiga loto

          E fanoanoa loto

           Kafai koe e moe

           E moe koe e ala

           E kui o alatino

Track 6 We need to talk

It hurts deeply

It saddens the heart

But there is another way

There are things you need to say

Things I need to know

I see the heavy burden you carry

Gathered over a sea of tears

  We need to talk

  So we can understand

  Discover all that is good

  All that is true

Discover all that is most precious

  To me and you

  You're locked in the past

  Surrounded by your fears

  Of what you will lose

If your wrongs are found out

   Tho you are responsible

   It is your undoing

   Programmed for suicide

   remains there so long

   as you say they are

   another part of you

   awakens when you sleep

   sleeps when you're awake

   runs beneath your radar

Track 8 Tu Tokatahi

Ko te Atua i maualuga

Ko to malohi to aloha

Na talohaga o koe molimau

Te tu tokatahi

Tu Tokelau

Te lotofiafia ma te fealohani

Pepehe ma te vikiga

Ki te Aliki

Te puipuiga nuku fa ke mau

Nonoa fakatahi

Nuku Tokelau

Tokelau Tokelau

Tu fakatahi

Tu Tokelau

Track 8 Stand as one

Almighty God

From up high

We request you bear witness

On our independence for

We stand as Tokelau

With open hearts

And friendship

We sing our song of Praise

To our Lord

Defend our four lands

So they be steadfast

Bind together as one

This land of Tokelau

CHORUS

Tokelau Tokelau

Stand as one

Stand as Tokelau

Eyes to the fore

With respect to the past

It's our future

We must endure

To guard and protect foremost

Resolute in our minds

Making us strong

This land of Tokelau

Track 9 Mataliki

 Fakamalohiaga mai luga

Tauivi mo mea lahi manaia

Tapena tupulaga laiti

Te akoga mua aloakia i ki nei

Track 9 Little Stars

  An inspiration from above

A sacrifice for something much better

  Preparing the young generation

  Setting down the foundation

  For their future

 The smiles upon their faces

  Make it all worthwhile

  Children of Mataliki

  Winning in life

 Many good things come

 much positive feedback

 from parents and from the
 community is testimony of
 our success the first

 recognized (Tokelau)
 school in this land

Track 11 Vaitaimi Mihia

E foliga ki taua ke heavea

Ke pa atu kua tuai

Fokotahi te mea e fai nei

Fakauma tenei fakanoanoa

Holoi na loimata mai oku mata

Kae tu malohi

Mo te mea kua ko iloa

Track 11 Missing Moments

It seems we have to wait

Until it's too late

To realize what we had

The good times together

Showing

What we meant to each other

I can turn it around

Do the best I can

And in years to come discover

All the joy in what I have

And when we are alone

Those missing moments gone

We come to understand

Words we should have said

Things we should have done

It's so simple

But we make it hard

Only one thing to do

Make this sorrow disappear

Wipe the tears from my face

Stand up for what I know

The good times with those I love

Means more to me today

To laugh and sing and play

These are simple things

But they mean forever to me

Track 12 Te Kupu

Kafai e ke mauagia

Mauagia e koe te kupu

Kua lelea kehe ai

Te lalolagi kua matafi

Kua matafi katoa

Katoa i te lagi

Lanumoana

E faigofie lava
E tahi lava te faiga

Track 12 The word

When you discover the (misunderstood) word

And blow it all away

The whole world clears

The sun shines through

And all around skyblue

It’s so simple

There is only
One way through

The music was inspired after performing with Zakir Hussain in March 2005. The lyrics, however, came about after attending a seminar with one of the world’s foremost experts on productivity improvement, Marten Runow, where he explained the importance of fully understanding the meaning of words.

Track 13 Our Ocean

I give you my voice

Together we make a stand

We're making the right choice

For our future and for our children too

Hear the cries of the ocean

Cries of caution from our ancestors

We can't be defeated

United we can win.

This is my ocean

This is my future

My choice

This ocean is my home

This is our ocean

This is our future

Our choice

The Pacific is my home

What do we say to our ancestors

When all the fish are gone

If we fail to protect our home

And all our future children to come

Their hope lies in us

Chorus replies (in Fijian, Kiribati and One Tok)
We must protect it

They must respect it

Our Ocean

In 2004 I was asked by Greenpeace to write this song in support of a campaign carried out by the Rainbow Warrior visiting the Islands of Kiribati, Fiji, Solomons and other Pacific Nations to raise awareness about overfishing in the Pacific, hence the use of those languages in the song.
